Five residents of the Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland performed an original play and led a dialogue with Mountain Valley Middle School students Friday afternoon. The presentation was made during the school’s “Wonder Day,” which invites more than 20 presenters to speak to students about the theme of “choosing kindness and overcoming obstacles for a positive future.” The program has been developed as part of the school’s GEAR UP program, which encourages students to overcome obstacles, attend post-secondary education and work toward amazing futures.
