1959 – 2016

PORTLAND — Glenn Gregory Gloden, 56, of Stoneham peacefully passed as the sun set on Saturday, April 30. He was comforted by his three, loving sons at his side.

Glenn was born May 26, 1959, in Dubuque, IA, son of Greg F. Gloden and Patricia J. (Mullady) Strang. He grew up in the midwest and later lived in Phoenix, Ariz. before moving to Sweden 30 years ago.

Glenn loved his children and family dearly. He was a very proud father. He enjoyed working his tools, music, camping, fishing and spending time with his sons. He was a man of his word and practiced what he preached. He was a man of kindness, understanding and patience. Glenn could fix anything with nothing: a true MacGyver.

Glenn was employed by Bancroft Contracting Corporation from 2002 to 2016 after spending 10 years working for Abington Construction. He was a master millwright by trade, having worked on hydroelectric and paper machine projects all over the northeast. He was soft spoken and well respected. He was always willing to teach others his knowledge in work and in life.

He is survived by his three sons, Austin C. and Sawyer S. Gloden of Stoneham, and Levi P. Gloden of Portland; his brother, Mark Gloden of West Paris; and the mother of his children, Linda J. Jonaitis of Lovell.

He was predeceased by his mother; his father; and grandparents, Charlotte May Patterson Mullady Pig and George B. Mullady.
