Annual bird walk in Norway
NORWAY — Birders may join the Western Foothills Land Trust for its 29th annual bird walk at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, May 14, at Roberts Farm Preserve, 64 Roberts Road.
Seasoned birders Mary and Bob Van Nest, Jeff Chase and Cris DelCuore will provide guidance and competitive entertainment as participants walk through a variety of bird habitats at the preserve.
Migratory birds have just returned, late this year due to the cold spring. Birders generally identify between 25 and 40 species during the two-hour walk.
Participants should bring bird books, binoculars and bug spray. The walk will be held rain or shine, so birders should dress for the weather. Refreshments will be available, and donations are appreciated.
