1945 – 2016

AUBURN — Paula H. Enman, 70, of Farmington passed away peacefully at the Hospice House on Tuesday, May 10.

She was born in Portland, July 31, 1945, a daughter of Clarence and Lois (Beedy) Niles and received her education in local schools.

Paula was the director of family planning for Franklin County Community Action in the late 1970s and then changed her career path to a wine distributor for Reunite wine until the mid-1980s when she became her daughter’s caregiver. Paula was a lifetime member of the Kingfield Historical House, to which she dedicated many hours. One of her passions was painting and she enjoyed her yearly trip to Lubec with a group of local artists.

She spent hours taking care of her ever-growing gardens. Paula loved family history and was known as the family historian and she also was the secretary of the local genealogy group. Paula cherished every moment with her daughters, but it was her grandchildren who held a huge part of her heart; she had a special bond with each of them. Paula was a great mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughters, Cara Smith of Kingfield, Carla Holmes of Bangor, Shanna Enman Russell and her husband, Nathan Russell, of Wayne; grandchildren, Delaney Jean Russell, Kevin Smith and Ethan James Russell; two brothers, Harold (Butch) Bobby and his wife, Pat, of Reynoldsville, Pa., and Paul Bobby and his wife, Grace, of Sewell, N.J.

Paula was predeceased by her parents, Clarence (Pete) Niles and Lois (Beedy) Niles; her biological father, Harold Bobby; and her companion of many years, Vernon Davis.

Condolences, tributes, photos and a memorial video may be shared on her memorial wall at www.wilesrc.com.
