QUEBEC CITY, Quebec, Canada — Forty-five St. Dominic Academy foreign language students and four chaperones took a cultural trip to Quebec City in Quebec, Canada, April 14 and 15.

Students visited Old Quebec, had dinner and danced at a sugar shack, attended a showing of a 17th century soldier’s life, visited a copper museum, Montmorency Falls and took a ferry ride across the St. Lawrence River.

“Not many students are fluent in the language and they felt a little overwhelmed,” said French teacher Carmen Hunter. “I think it opened the eyes of many students that not all people speak English and that there are many customs that are different from what we experience in the United States.

“This trip may have increased students’ curiosity about traveling and exploring other countries,” Hunter said.
