AUBURN — The YMCA of Auburn-Lewiston is seeking community nominations for its second annual Hall of Fame celebration.

Nominees may be current or former staff, volunteers, Y members, board members, ambassadors, advocates or community partners. Selected inductees will represent inspirational leadership and dedication to the Y’s mission and the broader movement, touching lives in the dozens, hundreds, or even thousands.

Friends or relatives of deceased candidates may submit nominations. They can be submitted online at www.alymca.org/hall-of-fame-nomination or in person at the YMCA Welcome Center at 62 Turner St. Nominations close June 30.

The Y Hall of Fame was established in 2015 to honor the men and women whose contributions have made the Y a thriving community resource for nearly 150 years.

YMCA CEO Steven Wallace said, “This event is about recognizing individuals who have shaped the YMCA to meet community and family needs over the last century and a half. They have unselfishly given of their time, talent and treasure to ensure the Y continues to evolve into what greater Androscoggin County needs the YMCA to be.”

Honorees will be recognized at the Y’s annual meeting on Dec. 8 at Martindale Country Club.
