1930 – 2016

AUBURN — Geraldine B. Barnard, 85, of Mechanic Falls passed away Tuesday, May 10, at Clover Manor.

She was born in Lewiston on Dec. 9, 1930, the daughter of James and Marguerite Hawes Goodall. She graduated from Mechanic Falls High School and attended nursing school. She married Robert W. Barnard Sr. on July 29, 1952. She had been employed as a secretary at Mechanic Falls High School and later at the Cummings Agency. She was a trustee for the Mechanic Falls Library, was treasurer for the Congregational Church in Mechanic Falls and coordinated many Mechanic Falls High School reunions. She loved quilting. She enjoyed her snowmobile trips out West with her husband. And she was able to find enjoyment fishing with Phil and painting after Bob Sr.’s passing. She had a great group of friends and enjoyed bus tours with them. She loved her dogs and her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Walton and husband, Todd; her son, Robert Jr.; grandchildren, Mathew and Lucas Walton, Jenn Durant and husband, Adam, Darcey Barnard and Amy Barnard; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Lauren Durant; and nieces and a nephew.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; and her sister, Janice.
