NEW GLOUCESTER — Diane Mary Plummer, 66, of New Gloucester passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 10.

Born and raised in New Gloucester by Sidney and Leona (Pearl) Bragdon, Diane graduated from Gray-New Gloucester High School in 1968 alongside the love of her life, John Plummer. John and Diane married in 1970 when they began 46 years of being each other’s best friend.

While she was often selfless — always worrying about others and putting them before herself — she would treasure the vacations that she took with John to Florida as it was her chance to be “Johnny’s girl” again.

There weren’t many things Diane loved more than her grandchildren. She cherished her title as “Mimi” and the precious time that she spent with them.

Diane will be remembered for how she lived her life — with fun, humor and dignity. Even when faced with an immense health challenge, she kept her terrific sense of humor and positive attitude as noticed by her many caretakers.

She worked at Conifer Industries for 38 years, most recently as the office manager. For many years, she also worked with the New Gloucester postmaster as a volunteer respondent to local children’s Santa letters at Christmas time.

Diane is survived by her husband, John of New Gloucester; her two sons, Cory Plummer and wife, Kim, of Gray and Vincent Plummer of New Gloucester; three grandchildren, Devon and Kassidy Plummer of New Gloucester and Aiden Plummer of Gray; her father-in-law, E.W. Plummer of Oxford; four sisters, Sue Peterson and husband, Mike, of Auburn, Linda Bowie and Jean Babbin of New Gloucester, and Grace Bragdon and fiancé, George Lawrence of Old Orchard Beach; and many nieces and nephews.
