SACO — Laura Frances Phillips, 74, of 18 Boothby Lane, Saco, passed away peacefully at the home she shared with her son, Sonny Belanger, with whom she lived for the last 16 years along with her sister, Edith MacDonald, for the last six years.
She was born in Norway on her mother’s birthday on Sept. 10, 1941, to the late Nathalie Spear. Laura attended schools in the Oxford Hills area and worked as a CNA in her early years. In 1975, she furthered her career and received her LPN nursing training through Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute in Portland. She then moved to Lewiston where she worked in various nursing homes. Laura was a Jehovah’s Witness in the Saco, Norway and Lewiston congregations. Laura also leaves behind a family she loved with all her heart. Laura’s family loved her and will forever miss her.
Laura is survived by her only sister, Edith, and her late husband, David MacDonald, of Saco; two sons, Norman “Sonny” Belanger of Saco and Albert Belanger Sr. of Peru; four daughters, Roberta Ishola of Fayetteville, N.C., Pamela Belanger, Nathalie Lilly and Brenda Terjelian of Lewiston; grandchildren, her namesake Laura Lunt, Victor and Jamie Carter of Lewiston, Deeanna and Adam Collins of Lewiston, Jessica Carter, Antonio Gendron, Ryan and Stephanie Voye of Wales, Albert Belanger Jr. of Peru, Justin and Dominque Deschaine of Auburn, Victor Jr., Jonathan Carter, Trevon Woodbury, Raequann and Nastatsia Lunt of Lewiston, Scott Darling, and Jennifer, Tammy, Blanche, Roberta, Jasmine, Victoria, Therdore, James, Richard, John, Tammy, Shawnna Roaix of Bluffton, S.C.; great-grandchildren, Roberta Lunt of Fayetteville, N.C., Taraji and Braxton Deschaine of Auburn.
Laura was predeceased by her mom, Nathalie Spear; and great-granddaughter, Alberta April Terjelian.
