Free dentistry for qualifying people
AUBURN — Riverview Dental and Taylor Brook Dental will be providing free dentistry for military service veterans, Abused Women’s Advocacy Project, the homeless and people experiencing financial hardship on Friday, May 20.
At last year’s event more than $20,000 in free dentistry was donated.
Widows fellowship begins May 21
AUBURN — Widows seeking fellowship and encouragement may participate in a monthly breakfast and workshop at 9 a.m. the third Saturday of the month at East Auburn Baptist Church.
There is a $5 fee to cover the cost of the food. Following breakfast there will be a free workshop on different topics of interest.

Somali-English story time
AUBURN — The Auburn Public Library will host a Somali-English story time at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 26, in the Maggie Trafton Program Room at 49 Spring St.
Each child who attends the story time will be able to select a children’s book to take home written in both Somali and English.
After the stories, participants will share a snack and create a craft.
The story time is sponsored by a grant from the American Library Associations’ Services to Children, part of Diversity in Action, a nationally recognized initiative that emphasizes the importance of literary for all children. The grant was funded through the Dollar General Literacy Foundation.
The grant allowed the library to buy bilingual Somali-English books for the library’s permanent, collection, which will be on display at the library.

Lewiston Republications to meet
LEWISTON — Lewiston Republicans will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 26, at the Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, 415 Lisbon St.
Doors will open at 6:45 p.m. The agenda includes the nomination and election of the finance chair. The 2016 candidates will be there in preparation for the June 14 primary.

Spring Fling set for May 26
MONMOUTH — The Henry L. Cottrell School Spring Fling will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 26.
Attendees can purchase flowers and vegetables that students have planted, view the artwork on display and shop at the Scholastic book fair. Books are buy one, get one free.
There will be community signups for local summer activities.
Danville Junction Grange to meet
LEWISTON — Members of Danville Junction Grange will meet at the hall on Thursday, May 26, at 7 p.m.
A memorial program will be presented by Chaplain Joyce MacDonald. Refreshments will be served at the close of the meeting.
Members are reminded to bring clipped coupons for the troops. All members and guests are welcome to attend.
