DEAR SUN SPOTS: Why is Auburn not having a clean-up week this year? — No Name, Auburn.

ANSWER: Auburn announced earlier this spring that it would not host the Spring Clean-Up Program and gave residents a list of options for how to rid themselves of their unwanted household items, bulky and hazardous waste. The Spring Clean-Up week is costly — according to a 2015 Sun Journal article by Scott Taylor, the collections can cost the city between $45,000 and $50,000. In that article, it said the last time the city had funded the program was three years earlier in 2012. 

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Back in the mid-’90s, there was a pretty blonde named Tracey Needham who played on the TV show “JAG.” I have been watching reruns and I was wondering what ever happened to her? — No Name, Peru.

ANSWER: Actress Tracey Needham hasn’t been in the limelight for some time now, though she has appeared in several made-for-TV movies and has had some small parts on various television series since her one season as Lt. Meg Austin on “JAG” back in 1995 and 1996. Her last acting role was in 2010 where she appeared as Sarah Sharpe in the mystery thriller “The Last Harbor,” according to the Internet Movie Database. Since then, news reports have mentioned her working alongside her husband Tommy Hinkley teaching children about acting in their education program named Reel Kids, which is located in the Boulder, Colo. area. The couple has a daughter together, Katie, who was born in 1999.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Hartford Heritage Society is holding a yard sale on June 11 at the Hartford Town Hall, Main Street, Route 140, Hartford, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The proceeds will benefit the restoration and upkeep of the J & O Museum. DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Village Scrappers of Livermore are holding a yard sale on June 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Quinn Residence, on the corner of Routes 17 and 133 in Livermore Falls. We are trying to raise funds for our treasury to purchase batting for all of our charitable projects. We provide baby and pediatric quilts to four local hospitals, five fire/rescue departments, local fire victims, local nursing homes and many miscellaneous projects as needs arise in our area.
