FARMINGTON — The Farmington Police Department welcomes two new officers to the force.
Matthew Fernandez is 25 and originally from Arizona. The U.S. Marine Corps veteran served actively from July 2010 to July 2015. He is now in the Marine Reserves. He is married and has a young child.
Kevin Lemay is 26 and originally from Lewiston. He graduated May 12 from Central Maine Community College in Auburn with an associate degree in criminal justice. He was a reserve officer for the Jay Police Department before coming to Farmington full time.
Both started May 16 and will begin their 10-week field training program. They will have to attend the 18-week Basic Law Enforcement Program at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy.
