PORTLAND — Several Masses and prayer services are planned for churches and cemeteries around Maine on Memorial Day weekend.

Bishop Robert P. Deeley will celebrate Memorial Day Mass on Monday, May 30, in the Mausoleum Chapel at St. Peter’s Cemetery at 10 a.m. The cemetery is located at 217 Switzerland Road in Lewiston. All are invited to attend.

Other special gatherings planned:

Bridgton: A Memorial Day Mass will be celebrated at 8 a.m. Monday, May 30, at St. Joseph Church, 225 South High Street.

Lewiston: In addition to the Mass on Monday with Bishop Deeley, a prayer service will also be held at noon Sunday, May 29, at Mount Hope Cemetery, 91 Mt. Hope Ave.

Norway: Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish will celebrate a Memorial Day Mass at 8 a.m. Monday, May 30, at St. Catherine of Sienna Church, 32 Paris St.

Rumford: Fr. Greg Dube, pastor of Holy Savior Parish in Rumford, will celebrate a Memorial Day Mass at 8 a.m., Monday, May 30, at St. John’s Cemetery, located on Isthmus Road (weather permitting).
