Rumford Hospital seeking scholarship applicants

RUMFORD — Applications are now being accepted for the Peg Blouin Nursing Scholarship.

New nursing students pursuing either an associate degree or bachelor’s degree in nursing are welcome to apply for the $1,250 scholarship. The scholarship is open to those pursing nursing degrees at any stage in life.

The recipient will be selected the Rumford Hospital Nursing Leadership Committee.

The fund was established in 2009 after Blouin retired from Rumford Hospital after working 42 years as a registered nurse. Blouin received an auxiliary scholarship which allowed her to earn her nursing degree, and wished to give back to the community.

Applications must be postmarked by June 17.
