MEXICO — The Regional School Unit 10 board of directors hired several people and approved a loan Monday night.

Hired as a guidance counselor for Dirigo Middle School was Tim Goding, who most recently served in a similar capacity at North Haven Community School.

Kayla Coulombe was hired as a second-grade teacher at Rumford Elementary School. She is a University of Maine at Farmington graduate and is enrolled in a master’s program.

Elizabeth Ledesma, a third-grade teacher at Meroby Elementary School was reappointed for a full year.

Other appointees include Bryan Blackman as Mountain Valley High School junior varsity football coach, and Devin Roberts and Clifford Boynton as assistant football coaches at the high school.

A technology support position was increased to three-quarters time from half-time. The person will work for the district throughout the school year.

Prior to the change, the hours were split evenly between the district and the Region 9 School of Applied Technology.

The positions of part-time clinical supervisor at the Pennacook Learning Center and full-time district behavior interventionist were also created.

Special Education Director Clarissa Fish said the interventionist, who will work with the school psychologist, will support the staff as well as students. The Pennacook Learning Center serves special needs students.

A loan of up to $2.5 million was approved at an interest rate of 0.98 percent from Androscoggin Savings Bank. Business Manager Mary Dailey said the money is used while the district waits for town assessments.

Also on Monday, King said perceived overcrowding at Hartford-Sumner Elementary School could be alleviated by moving a teacher from Buckfield Junior-Senior High School to the Sumner school.
