FARMINGTON — Regional School Unit 9 directors Tuesday night recognized top students from Mt. Blue High School and Foster Career and Technical Education Center, both at Mt. Blue Campus.

Seven of the top 10 students from the high school were able to attend, Principal Bruce Mochamer said.

The top three students from the Foster Center were also recognized.

Foster Center Director Glenn Kapiloff said the students are a shining example and hope for the future.

Students introduced themselves and told the board their plans after graduation. Each received applause.

Recognized from Mt. Blue were:

• Caitlin Kane of Wilton, who plans to attend Maine Maritime Academy and study international business and logistics;

• Alan Sherrod of Wilton, who plans to attend Clarkson University and study biomolecular science;

• Miriam Cohen of Farmington, who plans to go to Yale University and study history and education;

• Roshan Luick of New Sharon, who will attend College of the Atlantic and study biology and music;

• Anna Glass of Wilton, who plans to go to Bates College and study geology and music;

• Nicole Pires of Farmington, who will go to the University of Vermont and study pre-law with a major in English and a double minor in biology and women’s gender studies; and

• Mitch Guillaume of Farmington, who plans to attend Massachusetts Institute of Technology and plans to major in aerospace engineering.

Jennie Chen, Sierra Hoes and Nate Pratt-Holt were unable to attend.

Recognized as top three students at the Foster Center were:

• Brianna Ellis of New Vineyard, who plans to attend University of Maine at Farmington but is undecided on her major;

• Mitch Guillaume of Farmington; and

• Sadie Knight of Rome, who will attend Eastern Maine Community College to study automotive technology.
