I hope the people of Dixfield, who will be voting on the wind power ordinance, read the recent article in Sun Journal (May 18) regarding the 2016-17 RSU 10 budget proposal. The article stated that the town of Roxbury would see an increase of $195,300 because of the new wind turbine development in that town.

That is twice as much as the town of Mexico ($88,000) and four times as much as the town of Dixfield ($49,850). Plus, with the devaluation of the properties in the immediate area of the turbines, I do not see much of a tax benefit.

With the power being sold out of state and higher electricity rates, is it worth it?
