Chute presenting at Historical Society
POLAND — The Poland Historical Society June meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 2, at the old schoolhouse.
Robert Chute, a native of Naples and retired Bates College biologist, will be guest speaker.
Poetry related to the history of family and life in Maine will be presented, along with past history of Bragdon Hill.
The new museum will be open for viewing. The public is welcome, and refreshments will be served.

Rhubarb Festival June 4
WEST PARIS — The First Universalist Church of West Paris will hold its annual Rhubarb Festival and white elephant sale from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 4, at the church on Main Street.
The event will feature homemade rhubarb pies, cakes, cookies and “all things rhubarb.” Cookbooks will be for sale, which include a section of rhubarb recipes.

River Valley volunteers will share their experiences to help recruit more volunteers to accommodate the growing list of local girls seeking to become Girl Scouts. Door prizes and light refreshments will be served.
