1928 – 2016

JAY — Arthur J. Vigue Sr., 88, a resident of Jay died Saturday, May 28, at his residence where he lived with his son.

He was born March 5, 1928, in Skowhegan, the son of Aldoph Vigue and Mabel (Legree) Vigue. Arthur attended school in Skowhegan. He spent most of his life in the shoe industry, working in the shoe shops in Skowhegan, Lewiston and Freeport. He was an avid fisherman and could never be out fished. Arthur also enjoyed his time with his family and making his special “Dynamite Sauce.”

He will be greatly missed by his family.

He is survived by his son, Arthur J. Vigue Jr. and his fiancée, Lynn Harriman, of Jay; his daughters, Kim Billings of Jay, Nancy Withers of Greene, Jocelyn Frechette and husband, Dennis, of North Conway, N.H., Stephanie Warren of Hebron, and Jacenta Dostie and husband, Roland, of Lewiston; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his former wife, Lorraine Vigue; his sister, Dot Johnson; and his brother, Raymond Vigue.
