AUBURN — “Black Holes, Neutron Stars and Magnetars,” a free family program on a  fascinating world of stars and their creations, explores gravity at the extreme, 4 to 5 p.m.,  Auburn Public Library, presented by Jon Wallace. It is part of the traveling NASA exhibit, Our Town to Outer Space, through July 8.

LEWISTON — Joint meeting of the Lewiston and Auburn city councils in the City Council Chamber on the bottom floor of City Hall. A short reception with refreshments is scheduled for 5:15 p.m. The workshop to discuss emergency dispatch and L-A 911 begins at 6 p.m.

AUBURN — Special City Council meeting at 8 p.m., or as soon as possible after the joint meeting in Lewiston, in the City Council Chamber on the second floor of Auburn Hall. The sole agenda item is an executive session to discuss real estate negotiations.
