Free fishing this weekend
AUGUSTA — The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife will offer a free fishing weekend on Saturday and Sunday, June 4 and 5.
Any person may fish for free on Maine’s waterways without a license, except those who have had theirs suspended or revoked.
All other rules and regulations, including bag and possession limits, apply.

CPR, first aid class
OXFORD — There will be a CPR and First Aid Class at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 9, at the Oxford Public Safety Building.
Participants will learn basic first aid, adult, child and infant CPR and the use of an AED. Upon completion of the one-day class, students will received a two-year certification in accordance with the American Heart Association. This certificate course is accepted for day/child care providers, loggers, guides, teachers and any other non-health care related professions.
Those wishing to participate should call to confirm the date. Groups may also request to schedule a class at their convenience. Healthcare BLS CPR recertifications are done as needed one-on-one.

Heritage Society yard sale
HARTFORD — Hartford Heritage Society will host a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at the Town Hall on Main Street.
Proceeds benefit the restoration and upkeep of the J & O Irish Museum.
Donations of unwanted or unused items are being collected. No clothing, TVs or computer monitors will be accepted. Items may be dropped off at the Town Hall from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 10. Pickup or early storage of any donated items is available by calling 207-597-2270 or 207-597-2368.
Fairbanks annual yard sale
FARMINGTON — The annual yard sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at Fairbanks School, 508 Fairbanks Road.
At noon, items will be reduce to half price.
Donations are being accepted, excluding clothes and computers.
Proceeds benefit the Fairbanks School Maintenance Fund.

Performance camp registering kids
FARMINGTON — A free, intensive performance camp for youth 6 to 18 years old will be held in June at City Lights North, 231 Broadway.
Children should come ready to dance, sing, act, fence and work hard. Teachers from Boston City Lights include Tiara and Tisleem Anderson, Floatski, Russell Ferguson, Adrienne Hawkins and Duggan Hill.
Drop-in registration will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, June 11 and 12. The program will run 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily Thursday, June 16, to Thursday, June 30. It concludes with a show on Thursday, June 30, at Emery Arts Center at University of Maine Farmington.

Texas hold’em in Greenwood
GREENWOOD — American Legion Jackson-Silver Post 68 will host Texas hold’em on Saturday, June 11, at 595 Gore Road.
Doors open at 11 a.m., doors begin at noon. Meals and beverages will be available.
Radner performing in Farmington
FARMINGTON — Lovell storyteller Jo Radner will perform “Burnt Into Memory: Stories of the Brownfield Fire” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at the Old North Church.
Cost is $15 and benefits Western Maine Storytelling.

Bee club workshop June 11
PARIS — Oxford Hills Honey Bee Club will hold a workshop at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at the Oxford County Extension Center, 9 Olson Road, South Paris.
Ken Record will demonstrate how to split bees and show members a frame of queen cells.
