According a statement from the company, it is voluntarily recalling these three products:

  • Clif Bar Nuts & Seeds energy bar all pack configurations with coded date ranges starting 08JUN16 through 21JAN17
  • Clif Bar Sierra Trail Mix energy bar all pack configurations with coded date ranges starting 05JUN16 through 24MAR17
  • Clif Mojo Mountain Mix trail mix bar all pack configurations with coded date ranges starting 16JUN16 through 02FEB17

No other products and/or flavors are affected.

There have been no reports of Clif Bar consumers experiencing health problems connected to Listeria monocytogenes. It is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in pregnant women, young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems.

Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria monocytogenes infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

Consumers who have purchased any of the listed products are urged to dispose of it. Consumers with questions may contact Clif Bar Consumer Services at 1-888-851-8456.
