KINGFIELD — Police said a local man is accused of giving marijuana and alcohol to two 16-year-old girls at an apartment on Mill Street.

Scott Mclean, 24, of Kingfield was arrested Thursday on two felony charges of aggravated furnishing of scheduled drugs and two misdemeanor counts of furnishing liquor to a minor and furnishing a place for a minor to consume or possess liquor, Sheriff Scott Nichols Sr. said.

A conviction on each of the drug charges carries a penalty of up to five years in prison and $5,000 fine.

Franklin County Cpl. Kevin Hartley investigated a report that two men furnished alcohol and marijuana to two juvenile females, Nichols said.

Hartley interviewed the females and a suspect. The investigation is ongoing into a second man’s involvement, Nichols said.

Mclean was taken to Franklin County jail in Farmington and released on $1,000 cash bail Thursday.
