LEWISTON — Robyn Spugnardi of SeniorsPlus spoke about scams aimed at seniors, including identity theft, at The Lewiston Senior Citizens meeting on May 2.
Spugnardi explained the working tools of scammers and spoke of scams to be aware of, as well as ways members could protect themselves. She distributed handouts during the lecture.
A group of seniors toured the Maine State Museum on May 18. The group had lunch at the Red Barn and shopped at Christmas Tree Shop, and, before heading home, stopped for ice cream.
The next meeting is on Monday, June 13, with an ice cream social and a game of pass the buck.
Trips being offered include:
Foster’s Downeast Clambake: Aug. 9. Group will stop in Ogunquit for shopping or a walk on the beach. Deadline to sign up is July 21.
Maine wineries: Sept. 20. Group will visit two wineries in Vassalboro and have lunch. Deadline to sign up is Sept. 1.
Branson, Mo.: Nov. 11 to 21. The group will visit Branson, Mo. Trip includes 18 meals, seven shows and a tour of Branson. Deadline to sign up is Sept. 4.
White Mountains Christmas: Nov. 30 to Dec. 2. The group will visit the Magic of Christmas in the White Mountains in New Hampshire. Trip includes five meals, three Christmas shows and a ride on the Apple Cider Express. Deadline to sign up is Sept. 15.
