PARIS — Celebration Barn Theater will present a fusion of dance, circus, story and music with Molly Gawler’s “Droplet Dance” at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 11.

Gawler grew up on Buttermilk Hill on a small farm in Maine. She has studied ballet, modern and improvisational dance and eventually began working with Pilobolus Dance Theater in 2006.

She was a part of the Academy Awards of 2007 and collaboratively created many theatrical shadow projects that arose from that point. The culmination of that work is her lead role as “the dog girl” in Pilobolus’ “Shadowland,” a full-length show that toured the world.

“Droplet Dance” weaves story and song to bring about awareness of water in the world. All choreography is by Gawler. The music is most often created live by folk musicians from Maine, particularly Gawler’s family. Gawler plays fiddle, banjo and sings in the Gawler Family Band, and as part of the trio, “The Gawler Sisters.

Tickets are $14 for adults, $12 for seniors (60+), and $8 for those 17 and younger. All tickets are general admission; members receive priority seating. Lobby and concessions open at 7 p.m. Purchasing tickets in advance is strongly recommended.
