LISBON — Post 158, American Legion, visited seven cemeteries to honor those who served as part of its Memorial Day ceremonies.

Members said words of remembrance and gave the traditional 21-gun salute. Bugler Glen Simard then played taps.

The oldest plot the group visited was that of a sailor named John Blake, who was born in 1732 and died in 1839.

The Honor Guard, Legion President Glenn Simard and Auxiliary President Mary Call then threw a wreath of remembrance from the Lisbon Bridge into the Sabattus River.

The group then visited the memorial marker at the American Legion Post home on Webster Road. There the group met poppy princess Madison Tremblay.
