CARTHAGE — Franklin County sheriff’s deputies are looking for a New Hampshire man they say burglarized Bradbury’s Market on Carthage Road this week.
The door was smashed in and a passer-by reported it at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday. The burglary is believed to have happened after 11 p.m. Tuesday. There were items taken and the suspect was seen with them, Sheriff Scott Nichols Sr. said Friday.
Deputy Andrew Morgan identified Matthew Haines, 23, of Farmington, N.H., as the suspect in the burglary, Nichols said in a news release. Haines also is accused of walking away from a pre-release center Monday in New Hampshire, Nichols said in the release. There are three active warrants out for his arrest. The warrants are sealed and unavailable, he said.
Haines was last seen wearing a green sweatshirt and red shorts and may be hiding in the woods in the Carthage area, Nichols said.
Deputies are searching for him.
