1942 – 2016

AUGUSTA — Robert “Bob” Corriveau, 73, of West Paris passed peacefully in the Togus Springs Hospice Unit on Thursday, June 9, after battling cancer.

He was born in Southbridge, Mass., on Nov. 30, 1942, son of Raymond and Dorothy (Bremer) Corriveau. Bob attended Tantasqua Regional High School where he met his first love, Carol Christianson. He joined the U.S. Marines in 1959 and served in Okinawa, Vietnam and Camp Lejeune, N.C., where he and Carol started a family after marrying in 1963.

Following an honorable discharge, Bob worked as an auto mechanic, machinist and electronics manager installing and troubleshooting CNC equipment. He applied those skills in two business ventures: BC Motors in Sturbridge, Mass., and later at BC Machine in West Paris.

He had a passion for music and played several instruments including guitar, banjo and mandolin, and performed in a bluegrass and old-time country band for years. Bob had an off-beat sense of humor and an inherited penchant for pastries (baking and eating). He liked riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing and camping. He enjoyed sharing his technical knowledge and life lessons with anyone who wanted to learn and using his skills or resources to help a friend in need.

Bob is survived by his companion of three years, Evelyn Grimmel; son, Gene Corriveau and partner, Hedy Kummer; daughter, Carlene Corriveau Logan; daughter-in-law, Margaret Dunn Corriveau; grandchildren, Andrew Logan and Dale Corriveau (and wife, Amanda); mother, Dorothy Corriveau; sisters, Joann Rafail and Sandra Partlow (and companion, John Balderelli); and brothers-in-law, Robert Rafail and Ben Perez.

He was predeceased by his wife, Carol; father, Raymond; and brother, Gilbert.

Condolences and tributes may be shared with his family and friends at www.chandlerfunerals.com.
