LISBON — Police say a motorcyclist has died from injuries suffered in a hit-and-run accident Saturday night and a suspect was in custody Monday night, according to WGME.

Jeff Sickel, 28, of Brunswick sustained extensive head injuries and was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston immediately following the crash, Lisbon Police Chief David Brooks said. He died there Monday afternoon.

Police say Officer Ellen Stewart came upon the crash around 10:30 p.m. Saturday while patrolling Lisbon and Memorial streets. She discovered Sickel in the road near his badly damaged motorcycle.

According to WGME, 23-year-old Zachary Greene was turning from Lisbon Street onto Memorial Street when he hit Sickel and left the scene.

Greene was charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident. The Androscoggin County District Attorney’s office is reviewing the case, to determine whether Greene will face additional charges, according to WGME.

The crash was reconstructed by Maine State Police. Surveillance video was obtained from Five County Credit Union, across the street from the crash, showing a light-colored, possibly white or silver, pickup truck.
