LEWISTON — Popular horn player Roger Renaud will perform at this month’s La Rencontre (“the gathering”) at 11:25 a.m. Thursday, June 16, at The Dolard and Priscilla Gendron Franco Center, 46 Cedar St. 

The event will begin with home-cooked chicken stir-fry.

After the meal, there will be a presentation in the “Healthy Gathering” series offered by St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center and Central Maine Medical Center. Elizabeth Richards and Susan Cayer from the Memory Clinic at St. Mary’s will discuss dementia and what can be done to improve memory.

The day will conclude with the concert by Renaud, and several raffle prizes will be drawn.

The cost of the meal and the program is $10 per person. The doors open at 10 a.m. The center is wheelchair-accessible.

La Rencontre is not restricted to French speakers or those of Franco descent.
