JAY — Police charged a local resident Tuesday morning after neighbors said they were woken up by screaming, breaking glass and fighting at about 4 a.m. on Pleasant Drive.
Police arrested Carl Boyington, 22, of Jay on misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and furnishing a place for minors to consume or possess alcohol, Sgt. Russell Adams said.
Witnesses reported a verbal dispute turned into a fistfight in the street between Boyington and Devan Barrows, 22, of Wilton. Barrows was not charged in the incident, Adams said.
Boyington broke out windows in his residence, Adams said. There were several people there, including some under the legal drinking age of 21, he said.
Boyington was taken by a Northstar EMS ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington to be treated for cuts on his hands and then to the Franklin County jail in Farmington.
He was being held on $250 cash bail early Tuesday afternoon.
