1939 – 2016

CLEARWATER, Fla. — Colleen M. Jaros, 76, of Roxbury Pond, passed away on Sunday, June 12, in Clearwater, Fla., surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Rumford on Oct. 2, 1939, to the late John and Annie Durland, she graduated from Mexico High School, Class of 1957, and married Charlie Jaros on May 11, 1963.

A homemaker and bookkeeper for Charlie’s business, Town Radio, Colleen was proud to have become a phlebotomist at age 61. Colleen will be remembered for her creativeness as she gave the best gifts that she made herself and her thoughtfulness, as she was very involved in both the Andover and Rumford communities, with special dedication to Relay For Life.

She cherished her family and longtime friendships from Maine. Colleen’s happiest place was at “the camp” working around, playing cards, and all of the summers there with her grandchildren, and family.

She is survived by her children, Maryanne McArthur (Tucker), Chuck Jaros and Patti (Mike) Bryant. Colleen’s greatest love were her grandchildren, Crosby, Kelsey, Lane, Hunter (great-grandson), Dennis, Dimitri, Galina, Garrison and Dorsey. She will greatly miss her sister-in-law, Theresa Legere, her “Craft Club Girls,” sister, Jane (Kim) Doucette, brother, John (Janice) Durland, many nieces, nephews, her godchildren and her dog, Tobe.

Colleen is predeceased by her husband, Charlie.
