LEWISTON — The next workshop in the Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce’s Finance Matters seminar series is from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, at the Chamber, 415 Lisbon St.

Securing a Commercial Loan and the Decision Making Process will be presented by Dave Eldridge, senior vice president and commercial lending manager for Androscoggin Bank, and John Belisle, loan portfolio manager for the Lewiston-Auburn Economic Growth Council.

For some businesses, obtaining a commercial loan is a mystery. Banks, however, use a fairly standard set of criteria when making a decision on a loan application. The decision is generally based upon the “C’s of Credit.” If a business hits on all of the criteria, an approval is usually imminent. If an area or two is viewed as a weakness, involving a financial intermediary could be in the cards.

This workshop will identify the “C’s of Credit,” discussing their individual and collective effects on a commercial credit decision.

Cost is $25 for members, $50 for nonmembers.
