LEWISTON — A hands-on series of classes aimed at preparing students for the restaurant industry will begin next month at Lewiston Adult Education.
The culinary arts certificate program begins on Tuesday, July 5. It includes instruction on topics ranging from knife skills to the making of breads and desserts. Chefs Dan Caron and Brianne Doyle will teach the classes at the Green Ladle on 156 East Ave.
Students who complete the course will also have six or more hours of catering experience as interns. Local chefs are scheduled to teach lessons during the eight-week program.
Those interested in portions of the program may sign up for one-night enrichment classes. They include barbecuing, Mexican cookery and pies, biscuits and scones.
