WEST BETHEL — Elizabeth D. Gilbert, 84, of West Bethel died Monday, June 20, at her home with her family by her side.
She was born in West Bethel on March 18, 1932, the daughter of Wilbur and Ruby Luxton Davis. She graduated from Gould Academy and married Randall Gilbert on Jan. 30, 1951. She was employed as a millworker for many years. Following her retirement, she worked as a personal care aide, babysat her grandchildren and volunteered at Crescent Park Elementary School.
She was a member of the Senior Citizens. She was a devoted wife and mother. She loved her family and friends, always staying in touch by phone, she was also a card sender. Later in years she enjoyed the Red Sox, puzzle books and reading, as well as camping at Crocker Pond and Moosehead Lake.
She is survived by her sons, Glenn of Holden, Mo., Scott of Norway and Brent and his wife, Mary, of West Bethel; her daughters, Arlynn Hale and her companion, Philip Rolfe of West Bethel, Cheryl Ramsay and her companion, David Leland, of South Paris and Carol Crockett and her fiancé, Stan Gammon of Bethel; a herd of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Arlene Lowell of Bethel and Nancy Brown of Gorham; a brother, Lonnie Davis and his wife, Freda, of West Bethel; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Randall, on Nov. 12, 2002; a son, Neil; a brother, Robert Davis; and a sister, Patricia Blaquiere.
