First Saturday at the Williams House
WAYNE — The First Saturday at the Williams House will hold its boutique, yard and book sale from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 2, at 14 Old Winthrop Road.
Breakfast will be available.
The sale will feature furniture, games, household treasures and original artwork.
The public may stop by for coffee or tea and quiche or scones and shop. All proceeds benefit the Wayne Library Association.

Library book sale to Start July 2
TURNER — The Turner Public Library’s annual book sale will showcase two generous donations.
The first, from Roger and Nancy Prince, is a collection of approximately 500 books featuring American Indians, Asian art and jewelry, art and other topics.
The second collection of approximately 700 books features works originally used in a private school that has since closed. The books, mostly paperback and literature, range from Shakespeare to Tolkien. Multiple copies are available.
The sale is from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 2; 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, July 4; and 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, July 5.
All books will be available for purchase starting opening day.
The library is accepting donations of gently used books until the day of the sale.

Quilt show July 4
TURNER — Turner Center Universalist Church will host a quilt show from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, July 4, at the church on Route 117 across from the Leavitt Institute.
Cost of admission is a $3 donation.
Free meals for children
POLAND — Regional School Unit 16 is participating in the Summer Food Service Program.
Meals will be provided to all children for free on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Serving times are from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday until Aug. 19 at the Elm Street School in Mechanic Falls, at the Minot Consolidated School in Minot and at the Poland Community School in Poland.
Building grant applications open
ELLSWORTH and PORTLAND — The Maine Community Foundation has announced the deadline to submit applications for the Community Building Grant Program is Feb. 15, 2017.
The grant program is designed to support activities that strengthen and build communities. The program is one of only a few Maine-based grant programs that serve the entire state and cover a broad array of interest areas, from animal welfare to youth development.
County and regional committees, composed of local leaders with local knowledge and a commitment to philanthropy, review the applications. Grants range in size from $500 to $10,000.
