1933 – 2016

RUMFORD — Marjorie R. Brown, 83, of Rumford passed away peacefully in her home Thursday, June 23, with her loving family at her bedside.

She was born Marjorie Roy on June 18, 1933. A graduate of Stephens High School, she married Gerald R. Brown on Nov. 19, 1955. The couple raised four sons, Bob, Darryl, Glenn and Dan. Marjorie was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her two granddaughters, Lauren Grace and Renée Marjorie.

Marjorie was a talented knitter and enjoyed cooking, baking, ceramics, reading, candlepin bowling and socializing with her friends. Whether caring for her family or spending time in the company of friends, her kindness and sense of humor were a blessing and comfort to all.

Marjorie was a devoted Catholic and her collection of angel figurines demonstrated her fascination and love of angels, of which she is one.

She is survived by sons, Darryl M. Brown of Newington, N.H., and his wife, Sharon, and their daughters, Lauren and Renée, Glenn M. Brown of Stoneham and Daniel S. Brown of Jay.

Marjorie was predeceased by her mother, Yvette M. Roy on July 29, 1983; eldest son, Robert A. Brown on Feb. 3, 2008; and husband, Gerald R. Brown on July 29, 2009.

The family wishes to express their deepest thanks to Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice; Rumford Hospital; caregivers Nancy Martineau and Susan Pache; the Parish of the Holy Savior; neighbors Matt and Terri Palmer; and to countless other friends and neighbors who have kept Marjorie and her family in their thoughts and prayers.

Friends and family are invited to sign the online guest book and share memories with the family at www.meaderandson.com.
