1960 – 2016
AUBURN — Michael Raymond Brochu, 55, of Lewiston died Tuesday, June 21, at the Hospice House after a five-month battle with brain cancer.
He was born Nov. 4, 1960, a son of George and Monique (Bissonnette) Brochu.
Mike worked for various trucking companies for more than 30 years, primarily serving businesses of the Lewiston-Auburn area. He was currently employed by Conway Freight/XPO Logistics. Mike was a member of the Knights of Columbus Chapter No. 10019 and was also a member of the Teamsters Union for a number of years.
For many years, Mike played and coached softball for the Lewiston Men’s League and the USSSA organization, where he made many long-lasting friendships. He coached several teams that attended national tournaments. He also enjoyed watching his niece and nephew play various sports. He was an avid hockey, baseball and football fan. He spent many hours watching the Bruins, Red Sox, Patriots, Notre Dame, and the local professional teams.
Mike is survived by his wife, Carol Brochu of Lewiston; his daughters, Heather Brochu and her partner, Troy Fortin, of Lewiston, and Robin Brochu and her son, Andre Michael Juarez Jr. of Lewiston. Mike also leaves his mother , Monique Brochu of Lewiston; his sister, Sandra Marquis and her husband, Dan Marquis, of Lewiston; brother, Dan Brochu and his wife, Michelle, of Scarborough; as well as his nephew, Cam Brochu and niece, Courtney Brochu. Mike is also survived by his extended family, Dan and Jamie Bosse, Abby, Jeremy and Genevieve Dix, and Andrea and Rick Libby.
Mike was predeceased by his father, George Brochu; and his grandparents, Raymond and Helen Bissonnette.
