Republican Committee to meet
AUBURN — The Auburn Republican Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, in the Auburn City Hall Community Room, 60 Court St.
Guest speaker Rep. Bruce Bickford, R-Auburn, will discuss “Taxes and How the New Budget Affects Us.”
The Committee meets the first Tuesday of each month.
Pomona Grange to meet Wednesday
GREENE — Androscoggin Pomona Grange No. 1 will meet Wednesday, July 6, at Androscoggin Grange, 99 Main St.
There will be a 6:30 p.m. supper for $5 followed by a 7:30 p.m. meeting to discuss the annual summer outing and Go to Church Sunday. The program will be Summer Fun.
There will be a 50/50 raffle, door prizes and an attendance drawing. All Grange members are welcome to attend.

Rotary to discuss accessible playground
LEWISTON — Members of the Lewiston-Auburn Rotary District 7790 will share updates on Together We Play, the city’s universally accessible playground project, at its meeting at noon on Thursday, July 7, at the Ramada Inn.
The project is the result of the city’s award of the Shane’s Inspiration/Landscape Structure contest, which awarded $10,000 in equipment and $50,000 in playground design.
The playground will be barrier-free and was endorsed by the City Council. The accessible equipment may be used by both able-bodied children as well as those with mobility, physical, emotional and development disabilities.
Areas of the playground will include a riverfront rock wall, the sensory rock, animal sculptures, sound garden, spinner alley, embankment fun and tee canopy swings.

Essentials of College Planning workshop
LEWISTON — The Maine Educational Opportunity Center will host Essentials of College Planning for adults 19 and older at 9 a.m. Thursday, July 7 and 28, at the Lewiston CareerCenter, 5 Mollison Way.

Sox vs. Rays game trip
LISBON FALLS — Lisbon Recreation and Sunshine Hill Seniors are offering a trip to Fenway Park on Wednesday, Aug, 31, to see the Boston Red Sox play the Tampa Bay Rays.
The game will start at 1:30 p.m., but participants will arrive in Boston around 11:30 a.m. to grab lunch outside or inside the park, and have the opportunity to watch batting practice prior to the game.
Fans 14 and younger will receive a Wally piggy bank and have the opportunity to run the bases after the game.
Cost is $88 and includes the game ticket and coach transportation. Tickets are limited and sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.
