PARIS — A former member of the Paris Utility District board of trustees has pleaded not guilty to drunken driving.

Marjorie Risica of 65 Oxford St., Paris, appeared in Oxford County Unified Court on June 23 to answer a charge of operating under the influence.

She is scheduled to return to court on Sept. 30.

On March 29, officers responded to emergency calls about a vehicle almost hitting a rock and later bouncing off a guardrail on Brett Hill Road. They found Risica sitting in her car, which was parked in her driveway.

A test showed her blood alcohol content was 0.24 percent, which is three times the legal limit, according to a police complaint.

The vehicle was registered to her husband, Selectman Mike Risica.

She resigned from the board of trustees a few days later.

“It was but the grace of God no one was injured,” she wrote in a Facebook post after the incident.
