BANGOR — A Bangor man was arrested after he allegedly fled from police and tossed a “substantial amount” of crack cocaine and crystal methamphetamine early Friday morning.

Police responded to 160 Ohio Street for a report of disorderly conduct. During the investigation, police met with 37-year-old Brian Thomas of Bangor.

Police say Thomas was out on bail and subject to search conditions. During the interaction with Thomas, he fled the area, according to police.

He was located a short time later by officers. Police say it was apparent that Thomas had discarded both cash and what appeared to be narcotics during the chase.

A Bangor Police Department K-9 located the narcotics after a short search.

Police say a substantial amount of crack cocaine and crystal methamphetamine was seized along with over $6,000 in cash.

Thomas was charged with aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs along with refusing to submit to arrest and violation of bail conditions. He is being held at the Penobscot County Jail.
