Lisbon Police Chief David Brooks retired from the force Thursday. He was the youngest police chief in Maine when he started in Lisbon at the age of 26, and continued there for 42 years. Officers in Brooks’ department saluted him as he left the station Thursday. Here, he stands with his son Jason Brooks, a field training officer with the Sanford Police Department. For more photos from the ceremony, go to www.facebook.com/Lisbon-Police-Department. In a photo published in Friday’s Sun Journal, retiring Lt. Dan Michel was incorrectly identified as Brooks.
