DIXFIELD — The Dixfield Congregational Church will hold the annual Strawberry Festival from 7:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 2, at the church annex on High Street.
Admission: $6.50 per person for breakfast; $9 for lobster roll bag lunch; $7 for chicken roll bag lunch; $1 for drinks; $2.50 for strawberry shortcake.

FARMINGTON — Old South First Congregational Church will serve up strawberry shortcake from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. — or until the strawberries run out — Monday, July 4, at the Pierce House, 208 Main St.
Berries are picked that morning by volunteers from the church at David and Verna Pike’s farm on Whittier Road.
Historically, volunteer pickers gather in the morning and harvest more than 100 pounds of berries and transport them to the Old South kitchen. Here, more volunteers wash, hull and mash the strawberries, adding just the right amount of sugar. Other volunteers bake biscuits.

WATERFORD — The kickoff for the 63rd year of Waterford Summer Breakfasts is set for 7:30 to 10 a.m. Monday, July 4, at the Wilkins House.
Breakfasts will continue every other Wednesday on July 13, 27 and Aug. 10.
