EASLEY, S.C. — William Shepard Prescott, 91, passed away on Thursday, June 23, at Baptist Easley Hospital.
Bill was born in Lewiston and lived in Auburn for most of his life. In recent years, he moved to South Carolina and was a resident of Brookdale Nursing Home in Easley, S.C. He was the son of the late Franklin H. and Marion Humphrey Prescott. “Bill” as he was known to numerous friends and neighbors in Auburn, had a long career in the plumbing supply business, and was a World War II U. S. Army veteran and recipient of a Purple Heart. He and his wife were longtime members of the First Universalist Church in Auburn.
He is survived by 11 nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Perkins Prescott; his daughter, Cynthia Prescott; his sister, Barbara Thurlow; and many good friends and companions.
