PARIS — A Norway mother, whom police say fell on her 5-year-old daughter while intoxicated, was living in an apartment covered in dog feces, according to a police affidavit.
Kimberly Henderson, 44, of 206 Main St., pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child and violation of condition of release in Oxford County Unified Court on Tuesday morning.
Bail was set at $400 cash and Henderson is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 26.
Police arrested Henderson on Saturday after concerned neighbors called police to say they saw Henderson fall down a flight of stairs onto her 5-year-old daughter, according to an affidavit by Norway Police Officer Robert Federico II.
Federico said he saw Henderson with a 24-ounce beer on a couch with her daughter. The floor, counters, table, stove and a bathroom were covered in trash and dog feces, Federico said. A bathroom toilet was malfunctioning and overflowing.
A small room, believed to be the girl’s, was covered with dog feces and appeared to be used as a litter box, Federico said.
The girl told police she was not hurt. She was taken into protective custody and evaluated at a hospital.
