AUBURN — Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice will hold its eighth annual Butterfly Release Celebration at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at the Hospice House, 236 Stetson Road.

This event offers a unique opportunity to remember and honor loved ones by dedicating a butterfly in their name. No prior affiliation with hospice is needed and everyone is invited.

It is asked that each butterfly be made in honor or in memory of one person. Butterfly donations are $25 each. Proceeds benefit Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice.

The names of those being honored will be read at the event and listed in the program book.

Shuttles are available for ease of parking, as no parking will be allowed on Stetson Road or at the Hospice House. Attendees are asked to park at Flagship Cinemas on Center Street in Auburn and a shuttle bus will take them to the event, as well as pick up attendees afterward. Shuttles will run from 10 to 10:45 a.m.

The celebration includes music, the reading of names of those being remembered, and the mass release of the colorful monarch butterflies. Water and light snacks will be available as well as face-painting, crafts and fun for children.
