1947 – 2016

JAY — Clovis “Sike” Brian McDonald, 69, died on Sunday, July 3, in his sleep at his home in Jay on Lomie Rivers Road.

He was born and raised on the Crash Road in Jay on April 7, 1947, the son of Frank and Thelma (Winslow) McDonald. His sister, Muriel, was the oldest and he was the youngest of seven sons. Clovis graduated from Jay High School in 1966. He married Vicki Durrell in Strong on Nov. 6, 1970, and had two children, Deena and Chad.

A day after graduating high school, Clovis started his work career at Otis Mill. After the strike, he worked at Bath Iron Works, Statler Tissue and building condos with his brother, Vern, in Naples. Clovis retired from the Jay School Department in 2010, where he drove a school bus.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki; son, Chad; daughters, Becky, Judi, and Deena; five adored grandkids, Sam, Abby and Sophie Moreau, Owen and Emmet McDonald; four brothers and their wives, Alvin and Kitty, Olin and Anita, Vern and friend, Joyce, Brent and Patty; sisters-in-law, Peggy, Barb, Rita, Bonny, Mary, Eleanor and Jane; brothers-in-law, Colon, Parker, Skip and Mike.

He is predeceased by his sister, Muriel; brothers, Carroll and Doug; in-laws, Dottie, Angela, Wayne, Basil and Lawrence.

The family would like to extend a thank-you to great neighbors, John, Dave, Everett and Wesley.
