RANGELEY — Veteran educator and retired superintendent William “Bill” Richards is serving as interim superintendent of Regional School Unit 78, school board Chairwoman Nancy Hilliard said Wednesday.
Richards began July 1 and is being paid $450 per day, Hilliard said.
He replaces Jay McIntire whose last day was June 30.
“We are going to take our time” to find a new superintendent, said Hilliard, who was re-elected chairwoman Tuesday.
The school system serves Rangeley and the plantations of Dallas, Rangeley and Sandy River in Franklin County and Magalloway in Oxford County.
