FARMINGTON – Start Your Weekends on the Right Foot! Join the most exciting senior club to ever hit the Western Mountains of Maine! After one year of the One Day Wanderers’ Club, the Farmington Recreation Department has over 30 hikers that have gone on our wanders and we’re looking for more!

These hiking trails are ranked intermediate hikes, offering challenging terrain and several stunning views. We have a variety of itineraries and encourage hiking at your own pace. On each peak we will stop and enjoy a cup of tea at the top! We will be leaving the trailheads as a group at 8:30 a.m. sharp! The Rec. Department will notify Emergency Medical Services before every hike in case of an emergency.

8/27 – Maine Huts – (Flaggstaff Hut) 3.6 mi. Carrying Place

9/16 – Piazza Rock – 4.1 mi. Sandy River Plantation

10/7 – Bald Mountain- 3.0 mi. Oquossoc

A list of equipment that may be useful includes hiking boots (with ankle support and good grip!); hiking stick/trekking poles; day backpack; water bottle/snacks; and bug spray/sunscreen.
