VINCENT A. DROSDIK JR.

1931-2016

Vincent Albert Drosdik Jr., 85, passed away at the Maine Veterans Home in Augusta on July 8, 2016. He was born on April 8, 1931 in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of Vincent, Sr. And Claire (Meekins) Drosdik. Vincent served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1950 to 1952. He attended Boston College, and in 1957 graduated from Portia Law School in Boston. In his early years, he worked as a lifeguard and as postmaster in Sand Hills, Massachusetts. Later on, after graduating from law school, Vincent was a self-employed attorney, practicing law for many years. He was a member of the Maine Bar Association and a lifetime member of the NRA. He was passionate about antique militaria and enjoyed caring for his gentleman’s farm in New Sharon.

Vincent is survived by; his two sons, Stephen Drosdik and wife Marianne of Farmington, and William Drosdik of Oquossoc; his two daughters, Karen Drosdik of Glendale, CA, and Susan Stong and husband Patrick of Tulsa, OK; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Vincent A. Drosdik III in 1983.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 12 noon, in Section H at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta, ME.

John “Jack” E. Stanley

1947-2016

John “Jack” E. Stanley, 69, of Livermore Falls passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016 with family and friends by his side after a courageous battle with an illness. He was born in Framingham, MA on April 15, 1947 to Kenneth Sr. and Rose Stanley. John attended Farmington Schools. He was known to everyone as Jack and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, old westerns, hunting, fishing, motorcycles, and collecting die cast cars and trucks. John had an infectious happy go lucky personality and a wonderful smile.

John is survived by his longtime girlfriend Penny L. Bynum; brother Kenneth D. Stanley Jr.; nephew Kevin Stanley; nieces Cynthia Tyler, Jeannine McDonald; and many other relatives in the Farmington area. He was predeceased by his best friend and father Kenneth D. Stanley Sr and mother Rose Edna Stanley; nephew Kenneth D. Stanley III; and niece Kathreen Lewis.

Ronald E. Pinkham

1946-2016

Ronald Edward Pinkham, 69, passed away on July 8, 2016 at Maine Medical Center in Portland. He was born on December 2, 1946 in Avon, the son of Glenn and Lillian (Page) Pinkham. He was educated in the schools of Phillips and graduated from Phillips High School in the class of 1965. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1967 as a Spec 4 Corporal during the Vietnam War. He received several medals and citations including the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. On June 12, 1971, Ronald married Cherlyn (Sherry) Haines at the home of their good friends, Etney and Norma Campbell, in Phillips. Over the years, Ronald was employed as a truck driver for several companies and most recently worked for M&H Logging in Rangeley, until ill health forced his retirement in 1997. He was an avid fan of the Boston sports teams – Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots – watching the games with his dogs, Biscuit and Abby, by his side. He enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, and especially spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Ronald is survived by; his wife of 45 years, Sherry Pinkham of Jay; his two sons, Christopher Allen and wife Tiffany of Syracuse, Utah, Glenn Pinkham and wife Angela of Farmington; his eight grandchildren, Mackenzie Allen, Riley Allen, Madison Allen, Luke Allen, Mikaela Nida-Eldridge, Dominik Otte, Mitchell Otte and Darren Pinkham; his siblings, Glennice Cottle, Lorraine Kelley, Lawrence Pinkham, Glenda Baker, Patricia Clements, David Pinkham and Joseph Pinkham. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Carolyn.

Kellee J. Fortier

1970-2016

Kellee J. Fortier, 46, a resident of Jay, passed away suddenly, Tuesday, July 12th at her home. She was born April 2, 1970 in Lewiston, the daughter of Robert and Roseann (Field) Richmond. Kellee was a 1988 graduate from Jay High School and in 1992 she received her teaching degree from the University of Maine in Farmington. On June 27, 1992, she married Tom Fortier in Livermore Falls. Kellee currently worked for Spruce Mountain Middle School as a 7th and 8th grade math teacher, and was a former 5th and 6th grade math teacher for the Jay School Department. Kellee was devoted to her students and worked as a teacher and cheering coach for over 20 years. She was a member of the MEA and NEA. She enjoyed camping, cooking, doing crafts and spending time with her family. She is survived by her mother and father, Bob and Rosie Richmond, her husband of 24 years, Thomas Fortier, daughters; Hayley Fortier and Shae-Lynn Fortier, all of Jay, her brother Allan Richmond and his fiancé Diane Cronin of New Hampshire and her grandfather Edward Field and his wife Louise of Livermore Falls, father and mother-in- law Romeo and Annette Fortier of Jay; brothers and sister-in- law, Susan and Kevin Bell of Winthrop; Rick and Riitta Fortier of Westbrook; and Dennis Fortier and Elisabetta Mariotti of San Juan Capistrano CA. Richard “Dick” Fairbanks

1933-2016

Richard “Dick” Fairbanks, 82, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, with his wife and family at his side, following a stroke in June.

Dick was born August 22, 1933 in Phillips, the son of Chester and Mildred (Kinney) Fairbanks. He graduated as Salutatorian of Phillips High School in 1952 where he excelled at baseball, basketball and cross country, and earned the Outstanding Athlete Award in 1952. After graduation, Dick worked in the woods as a woodsman before starting his 28 year career at International Paper; he was involved in the building and development of the ‘new” mill in Jay.

Dick married Theda (Williams) in 1963 and raised their family in Wilton. Dick was well-known for his love of tennis and had his own tennis court at their house, which allowed him to build many close friendships; a blessing that he thoroughly enjoyed. Dick and Theda retired to Weld in 1997 where he enjoyed numerous activities: working in the woods, feeding the deer, enjoying the area’s wildlife on his back lawn, gardening, fly tying, basket making, fishing and snowmobiling. He especially enjoyed his dog Honey.

Dick was an involved member of the Calvary Hill Baptist Church in Wilton where he shared many years of faithful service with his wife. In addition, he was a member of the IP three quarter century club, Meadow Lanes Senior Bowling League and he had competed in the USTA Men’s competitions.

Dick is survived by his wife of 53 years, Theda; daughter Linda Fairbanks and partner Brian Burch; daughter Barbi Castonguay and husband, Denis; daughter Debbie McKinney and husband Peter; son Scott Fairbanks and wife, Linda; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by both of his parents; his daughter Valarie and son Randy; sisters Glenys and Roberta; half-brothers Montel, Farris and Hartley; half-sisters Eleanor and Lillian.

The Fairbanks Family wishes to thank the staff at CMMC, Edgewood Rehabilitation and Living Center, and Androscoggin Home Hospice for their excellent care and compassion for Dick during the past month.

Funeral Services, Connie Jo Boulay

FARMINGTON — Funeral services for Connie Jo (Knockwood) Boulay were held Wednesday morning, July 13, from the Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington, with Rhonda Wiles-Rosell serving as celebrant. Two granddaughters, Gabrielle and Isabelle, offered personal eulogies, as well as her son, Robert Boulay, and his immediate family. Her friend, Tina True, as promised, read a favorite poem.

Pallbearers were Harold Knockwood, Robert Boulay, Mark Garcelon, Casey Boulay, Billie Nolan and Derek Gilbert. Committal prayers with full military honors provided by Camp Keyes, were held at Riverside Cemetery, Farmington, where a Chivas Regal and Ginger Ale toast, honoring the life and the lifetime of Connie, concluded the services. A comfort reception followed at the center.
